tiger in my house

There’s a Tiger in My House is an adventure story about Kayin, a little boy with a wild imagination who becomes sure he has seen the wildest of animals in his own home – a tiger! As Kayin’s parents ignore his proclamations and warnings, a very determined Kayin sets out to find the tiger on his own. He cautiously explores the house from top to bottom, expecting a tiger around every corner. But he can’t quite figure out where.

The book, suitable for pre-k to 2nd grade, is written by Michael Sharpe, a longtime children’s educator who is familiar with the “runaway imaginations” of small children and how their minds wander and meander. Bright and cheerful Illustrations by Chris Burton reveal the surprising details that Kayin may have missed in his search.

Allow your children to explore the limitless possibilities of imagination and share the adventurous spirit of Kayin. You might be surprised where he finally finds the tiger!

My niece was totally engaged in the story to the point she seemed to be helping Kayin search for the Tiger. This was a charming story with beautiful pictures and writing that engaged my niece from beginning to end. She seemed to literally join Kayin’s heroic efforts to find and capture the tiger in the house. Her expression when she learns where the tiger is hiding was priceless.
